So to get 2013 the started a new road map has been made to produce a steady stream of all things anime from the perspective and prerogative of yours truly. This week’s Featured news corresponds to three video game announcements made over the week. including an infamous anime going free to play, a popular visual novel now in english, and when robots, not of the gundam series, collide.

An Established Form of Story Telling Making More Advances in to the Western Market

First is PacaPlus or “My Girlfriend is an Alpaca,”  follows the “unforgettable summer” of Saeki Kazuma. He one day visits Alpaca Kingdom with his friends, only to return home on the bus, look over and discover that his girlfriend, Izumi Yukari, has been replaced by a fluffy white animal. The visual novel is now being offered with the doujin circle’s English translation.

I found this to be exciting news as it shows that maybe the American & European audiences are ready to accept visual novels. Even if only little at a time this is a good step forward for inter mixing cultures holds good promise for the future.

A “Shonen Jump” Favorite making a Jump into Online Gaming

Secondly, Namco Bandai Games has announced a business partnership agreement with Chinese Internet company Tencent Games to co-develop a new Naruto online game, planned to launch in 2013 on Tencent’s online gaming portal.

Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm developer Cyberconnect2 is planning some involving in the game. Also of note,  Tencent Games’ parent company, Tencent Holdings, is the current owner of Riot Games, the markers of popular free-to-play title League of Legends.

As of now, the game is only planned to launch in China.

Lastly, The mecha from Bandai’s Robot Spirits line of figures will soon be battling in a video game. Battle Robot Damashii (Spirits) will bring together the likes of Eureka Seven, Code Geass, Heroman, Zegapain, Macross F, Star Driver, Full Metal Panic and Space Runaway Ideon in a PSP throw-down.
