A Harem For the Histories: Ambition of Oda Nobuna Anime Review

Ordinary high schooler Yoshiharu is sent back in time to the Warring States Period, however not the same time line that he remembers. There he meets Nobuna Oda – not Nobunaga, Nobuna. In this world, all the famous figureheads and warlords of the era are female! Nobuna teams up with Yoshiharu to help fuel her ambition and quest to rule the world…

One of the best animes I watched for the summer. The animation was stupendous and the music and sound were great. Combat was kept to a minimal as this was a harem anime but some action was still present. The characters were all so well-played and likable. Yoshiharu was just surrounded the entire time by female counter part of historical figures. Unfortunately Yoshiharu never did any fighting himself, nothing even close to, I really wished he could have had at least one awesome fight scene but his job was to just charm the pants off every female encountered.

This anime may be able to rewrite history but can’t rewrite its’ score and gets a 4 Dashes of Battle out of 5

  1. I don’t know about Yoshiharu ever fighting. The series was very strict in explaining he isn’t a super-human and would probably die if he ever enters a real one-on-one battle. Also, while this is a harem show I was surprised to see how little fan service it has (which was all done in good taste IMHO). I wonder if we’ll get a second season anytime soon.

    • you have a good point I was just a little disappointed in how he didn’t even try, It just felt awkward letting everyone else doing the fighting. As for the second season it maybe likely but not anytime soon, soonest I say would be winter(JAN 2013). As for the fan service I would have to agree.
