Never to Young to Learn… Or Teach: Katekyo Hitman REBORN! Anime Review

Introduction

Sawada Tsunayoshi is middle school student who is below average in every aspect and is considered a “Loser” by schoolmates. One day he is visited by the Tutor Hitman Reborn, an infant hitman for the mafia and trains future mafia bosses. Reborn informs Tsuna of his destiny and lineage to become the next mafia boss for the Vongola family. Tsuna is in denial but somehow attracts more people into joining his family even though he wants nothing to do with the mafia, including, Hayato Gokudera, an expert on dynamite who wishes to be his right-hand man, Takeshi Yamamoto, a baseball player who thinks that the Mafia is a game, Ryohei Sasagawa, the energetic captain of the school boxing club, and Kyoya Hibari, the deadly head prefect. Lambo, a weak infant assassin who came to kill Reborn, and Chrome Dokuro, a girl who has a mental and physical link with the criminal Mukuro Rokudo, joins them as well.

Review

This anime was quite endearing and even with the amount of episodes in the series, it never really seemed to deviate or fill too much from the story or plot. Each character was well suited to compliment the protagonist and all are well-developed through a great back story. Though the animation is rather simplistic the action seems to keep a good enough pace to keep you entertained. I did enjoy watching this anime myself and had no problem going through all 200+ episodes, in fact I actually looked forward to every episode and realized why this anime was able to be serialized for so long.

This anime hits the mark and scores 4 Dashes of Battle out of 5

4/5
